SunnySide Arizona Ghost town was a mountain community in the 1880s. It grew up after the Apache’s had started to wind down. The founder Sam Donnelly, was Sunnyside’s leader and the preacher on Sundays. You can still visit the Sunnyside Ghost town, although it is now on private property. The sign says all welcome, but ask that nothing be removed from the site. I noticed there are several websites on the SunnySide cemetery try this link SunnySide Cemetery This was once a bustling town of maybe 80 people at the height they say. Sam and a group of his followers established the settlement.
Eureka Mine
Sam and his followers started the Eureka mine too. Like most early mines an underground river was struck and flooded the mine. They then built and Saw Mill and Opened the Copper Glance mine high in the Huachuca mountains. All these mines and places can still be visited. The Sunnyside canyon trail is a great day trip or pack trip up to the Crest trail. You can visit the Eureka Mine too, up the Eureka Canyon trail. Where there is still Malachite and Azurite still laying around. The Sunnyside ghost town is still there too.
